How the
Chamber Works for You
We call
ourselves the Chamber of Commerce but we prefer to think of what
we do as a partnership. As partners in business and community, the
Chamber encourages new growth as well as the growth of existing
business. In this spirit, we have partnered with the Vinton County
Commissioners'
Development Department and the Convention and Visitors'
Bureau to create a central office for information about the
county. We believe that with unity comes success and that with
success comes a better community in which to live, work and play.
This better community is our goal and we invite you to join us in
reaching this goal.
Benefits
Publicity
Member news is featured in the Chamber's newsletter, Highlights. New members also receive a mention in
the Development Notes column in the local newspapers and a story
in Highlights. In addition, members can receive assistance with
creating and distributing news releases.
Special Events
Assistance
The Chamber can help coordinate ribbon cuttings,
ground breaking ceremonies and grand openings for members.
Inserts
Members may insert a one-page flyer into the monthly newsletter at
no cost. Member is responsible for the reproduction of enough
inserts for the entire mailing list and the Chamber reserves the
right to withhold an insert. Insertion space is limited and
reservations are required.
Referrals
The
Chamber office is often asked to make business to business
referrals and consumer to business referrals. We refer to Chamber
members first.
Meeting Space
Meeting space to accommodate up to 20 people is available.
Mailing List
The Chamber mailing list is available to members only. The Chamber
will provide an electronic or a hard copy of the mailing list to
any member that requests it.
Committee
Participation
Members can influence the direction of the Chamber
through participation in committees and by holding board
positions.
Programs
Christmas in
Downtown
Celebrate the holidays with the Chamber and the Vinton
County Travel and Tourism Committee on the first Saturday in
December. Sales, door prizes, music, parade, Santa and more await
you.
Future Focus
The Chamber contracts with OSU Extension to create a five-year
plan for Vinton County. This study includes community feedback
about all aspects of life in Vinton County and is adopted by the
Vinton County Commissioners as the county's official five year plan.
Student of the
Month Program
Two Vinton County High School seniors are honored
each month with a plaque and a $50 savings bond. Each of these
honorees is qualified to enter an essay contest for the Student of
the Year Program.

One Vinton County High School senior is honored
each spring with a $1,000 college scholarship.
Annual Banquet
Celebrate with the Chamber every fall as we recognize our
neighbors and colleagues for their accomplishments.
Reverse Raffle
Win cash and have a great time with this one night event.
Golf Outing
Tee off with the Chamber and friends at an area golf course.
